Swing Trade Defender

You're in a trade. Defender watches it for the five ways swing trades fail — plus an ATR trailing stop — and shows one status: OK, CAUTION, or EXIT.

The hard half is admitting when it stops working.

Finding the trade is the easy half. Swing Trade Defender watches your open trade bar by bar and does the admitting for you. Set your direction — long or short — and your entry price. It handles the rest.

  • Five failure flags, 1 point each — trend break (close through the 20-EMA), structure break (prior swing low taken out), momentum rollover (RSI back through 50), distribution (down bar on 1.5× volume), and an ATR trailing-stop hit.
  • One status — OK: let it work. CAUTION (1–2 flags): an orange triangle marks the bar — hover it to see exactly which flags are up. EXIT (3+ flags, or any trail hit): a red ✕ with a box listing what failed.
  • Works both directions — all five flags flip automatically for shorts. Markers sit above the bar for longs, below for shorts.
  • Status panel — the whole picture in one table: status, flag count, each flag's own line, the live ATR trail price, your entry, and open P/L.
  • Alerts built in — "Exit signal" and "Caution" alert conditions, so TradingView pings your phone instead of you watching the screen.

Set it once. Let it watch.

1

Enter your trade

Direction (long or short) and your entry price in the settings. That's the whole setup — the panel starts tracking your open P/L immediately.

2

Let it watch

Five checks run on every bar so you don't have to stare at the screen. Set the two built-in alerts and TradingView pings your phone.

3

Act on the status

EXIT means the trade has failed by these rules — three flags up, or the trailing stop hit. Whether to act is always your call, but now it's an informed one.

Tuned for trades held days to weeks.

The defaults match a standard swing timeframe. Tighten or loosen to fit your style.

Failure flags
Trend MA length, swing lookback for the structure check, RSI length and rollover level, and the volume spike multiple.
Default: MA 20 · swing 8 · RSI 14/50 · vol 1.5×
ATR trailing stop
A chandelier-style stop that ratchets behind price and never loosens. ATR length and multiple are both adjustable.
Default: ATR 14 · 2.5×
Flags needed for EXIT
How many flags trigger the red EXIT signal. A trail hit always triggers EXIT on its own, regardless of this setting.
Default: 3 of 5
Panel & markers
9 panel positions, text size, marker history on/off, optional background shading, dark/light theme, and colors.
Default: Dark theme

One tool in a clean process.

The other free tools find and size the trade — Defender guards it once you're in. A Pro version that watches up to eight positions from one panel, with portfolio alerts, is in the works; follow BlueBeck on TradingView to catch it.

⚠ Educational risk-management tool. EXIT means the trade has failed by these rules — whether to act is always your decision. It does not place orders, and a flag is not a prediction. Not financial advice.
